“I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for the book, website resources, and all of the blog posts. After a very, very long application season, I was just admitted to Kellogg (my top choice) off the summer waitlist last week. While I had been accepted and paid a deposit elsewhere, I quickly changed my plans to go to Kellogg. Your company’s resources were undoubtedly the most helpful of any website/book/consultancy that I came across. I think the Q&As with admissions officers, the essay analyses, and the blog posts really helped me shape my applications and tailor them to the schools to which I applied. As someone who is about to go from earning a salary to not earning a salary, I extremely appreciated all of the free resources on your website”

“Enlisting mbaMission to help me with my business school applications was one of the best decisions I have made in a long time.
In anticipation of applying to six top business schools, I took advantage of a free mbaMission consultation with the company’s founder, Jeremy Shinewald. Jeremy didn’t describe the gimmicky “creating a personal brand” approach that I had heard from other companies. He simply said: you are not a company with a tagline and a motto, but a person with a diverse set of experiences; we will help you pick your best stories and tell them in the most effective way possible. Jeremy’s honesty, flexibility and realism is what compelled me to choose mbaMission. And, I was not disappointed.
I would enthusiastically recommend mbaMission to anyone applying to business school. They will make sure that your application tells your best story.”

“My experience with mbaMission consultant was a great one. Starting with the brainstorming document, I was able to get great stories to tell on my applications and bring out the best part of my personal experience. Once I decided on the schools that I wanted to apply to, I was able to go through the essay questions with my consultant and determine the best stories to tell in each one. Although the process was stressful at times, getting help from the consultant allowed me to time my application process, and not wait until the last minute.
I was recommended this company when I started the process, and would I definitely recommend mbaMission to anyone considering having a consultant help them in the admissions process.”

“I am definitely glad I hired you to help me with my essays. Besides making me actively making me focus on my essays, you were able to help me clearly convey what I was attempting to say. The process gave the essays more structure and I definitely think that they are much better now because of your help. Thanks again and thanks for the quick turnaround and working with me on such a close deadline.”

“Definitely worth it! Especially for those who are super busy and for whom English is the second language. When you apply to more than 3 schools, it become overwhelming to track all the things you need to do and keep bugging your friends to read your essays. Also, for those who are looking to do career switch, it’s very helpful as well. I brainstormed with my consultant of the content of the essays to present my candidacy in the best way from different angles. She made me think about certain episodes in my professional career and life I would never even think about. I felt that without her help my essays would not come out so well rounded. I was a re-applicant this year and used the same consultant again. Yes, it is so expensive but definitely worth it. I was accepted to several schools. I am not sure if I would be in the same position have I not used help.”

“Guess what? I am in at Kellogg!!!!! I just got the message today. I am thrilled… I honestly don’t believe I could have done it without your help. You challenged me to realize all the mistakes I made in last year’s application to other schools. And you were extremely patient with me when helping me edit and re-edit my stinky draft essays. You were relentless and it paid off big time. I am so glad that I hired you to help me with the application and we hit the target 100% since this is the only school you and I worked on. THANK YOU for your support, guidance and insight.”

“I couldn‘t have been happier with the services of mbaMission consulting. All my questions were answered in a timely fashion, all my requests for constructive feedback were returned in a timely fashion, and all of the inputs I received were valuable. My consultant was available for mock interviews as well, and provided valuable feedback and information regarding the interview process. The mbaMission website was also extremely valuable and contained a wealth of information about the application process. I ended up getting accepted into 3 of 6 schools that I applied to, and my consultant predicted my results with great accuracy. I am convinced that using the consulting services improved my applications and made me more competitive in the application pool.”

“I was a little nervous in signing up for mbaMission’s start to finish package. Most reviews I had read were from those seeking entrance to top tier institutions, whereas I was just hoping to find somewhere that would accept me and needed help in everything from school selection to navigating the entire process. With the aid of my consultant, I was able to find a school that was a perfect fit for me and get accepted, which is no small feat given my prior record in academics. Emails were always promptly returned no matter the time. I couldn’t be more pleased and believe it was a wonderful investment for people in my position as well as those trying to get into an ivy league school.”

“In my opinion mbaMission was outstanding for several reasons: 1. Full commitment to me as an applicant. 2. Initiative service – My editor always thought how to improve my application and did not only respond to my direct questions. Sometimes I actually felt that he is more committed to the process than I am. 3. Personal treatment. My Consultant knew and remembered all information I gave him about myself and knew how and when to use such info during the application process. 4. Accurate service and always on time. 5. Very professional but also very friendly. 6. Flat rate per university – which allows the applicant to ask as many questions as he wants and to request as much editing as needed without additional cost – to ALL parts of the application.”

“I could not have gotten into Wharton without your help. While I had my essay ideas in my head, you really solidified them into a truly compelling story. After reading one of the completed essays for the first time, I could not believe that it was actually what I had imagined. It sounded so much more exciting than I had originally thought of it. Thanks again for everything.”

“From the beginning I was impressed by the passion and intensity. Before I paid a nickel, Jeremy was spewing advice on the phone and getting me thinking about my applications differently than I had before. Two days later, I had completed hours of brainstorming and knew where I was headed and more importantly just felt confident about my direction. When my schedule permitted, I wrote my essays and was impressed with the response time, but more with how thorough and thoughtful the comments were. The comments were not just criticisms, but were helpful suggestion and new ways of looking at my experience. The edits were comprehensive and remarkable and so my essays came together much quicker than I could have imagined. I was amazed that as I went along, I could anticipate certain comments and actually became better at this process. I started to understand the amount of detail to provide, learned to create climactic events in my stories and as Jeremy would say “always ensure flow.” Jeremy’s advice was not only consistent, thorough and creative in my essays, but across the board. I have no doubt that every aspect of my application was a strong as it could have been.”

“I can’t begin to tell you how fortunate I feel to have gained admission (to HBS), especially since it was my only application. You had faith in my candidacy even though I was doubtful from the beginning and were so proactive in keeping me going – without your phone calls to motivate another draft and the deadlines that you basically forced me to meet, I never would have finished. Without your help, I never would have considered those options for essay two, never would have even understood that insane essay four and definitely would not have come up with (topic deleted) for essay six. You made my strengths shine through and definitely was prepared for the ups and downs of my interview, for that I am always grateful. I just did not have the perspective on my candidacy and still find it hard to believe that I am Harvard material.”

“You may not recall the essay review session referenced below, but I do. The session was less like an essay review, than like a jam session of ideas. It was probably the most impactful and fun 30 minutes of my essay preparation process.
I will be starting the Wharton MBA Program for Executives in May and I wanted to thank you for your insightful and critical feedback. I must also give kudos to the team for the breadth and depth of content on the site, from the Personal Statement Guides to the blogs, to the essay analyses. It really helped me to find my voice and to tell my story in a way that was compelling, distinct and relevant.”

“I came to mbaMission last summer as I was figuring out which business schools were attainable for me. As an American Male with a sub 3.0 GPA, and non traditional background I was unsure if I had any chance at the top programs. After my initial conversation with Jeremy, I gained confidence and we worked together to market the positives in my past. He spent hours getting to know me and really helped me to put my best foot forward. This was not a simple essay editing service. I was able to craft compelling stories in my essays and impress admissions officers in my interviews. I have overcome my GPA and been accepted at 4 top MBA programs. I will be attending the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, something I would never have thought possible a few months ago. I highly recommend Jeremy & mbaMission.”

“Plain and simple: I am in shock. Thank you and my wife thanks you too. We can’t wait to move to Chicago and get started… It would not be an exaggeration to say that you changed my life. You will definitely be hearing from my brother next year.”

“Your consultant will brainstorm with you through your experiences and will advise you on which experience will be the most appropriate for a particular essay. He will help you bring out experiences that you may otherwise consider irrelevant. My consultant helped me work through the main ideas I needed to include in each of the essays. I drafted the essays myself a few times, and I sent each draft version for review. My consultant always reviewed my draft versions within 48 hrs from sending them, which is excellent, especially because I always worked too close deadlines… I personally liked the fact that he let me “own” the essay (rather than writing it for me) and, at the same time, he “guided” me step by step till we both would get to what we considered a great essay. I saw the massive benefits of “owning” my essay and in the same time having someone experienced teaching me to write it: in my interviews, when my interviewers actually asked me to speak in detail about the experiences described in my application essays, I was really prepared. My consultant had exceptional knowledge of what each school is looking for in my essays and had excellent wording of the essays and CV. In the end, I was admitted to all three of the top 10 schools that I applied to. On top of this, I learned to write better.”

“All the waiting and the agony was worth it. In at Wharton Round 1. I can’t believe it. I honestly don’t believe I could have done it without your help. All the edits and re-edits to get the message just right. You were relentless and it paid off big time. I will be sending my brother your way when he is ready to apply.”

“Kellogg, Haas, UCLA, and UT Austin! 4 for 5 and exceeded even my most optimistic projections thanks in no small part to the personal attention you provided me throughout the process. Your ability to understand people, specifically your willingness to learn what makes me unique — my personal competitive advantage to my target schools — helped me effectively communicate what it is I had to offer those programs. Your strategies were bang-on and your attitude and professionalism were top-notch. The landscape is flooded with consultants, but I felt confident, after receiving the glowing personal recommendation from [former client’s name omitted], that you would deliver. And I obviously wasn’t disappointed. Thanks again! You are truly a standout.”

“A few months back, after successfully passing the GMAT barrier I was contemplating whether to go through the MBA applications process by myself. Luckily I met you at one of the many forums I attended and was immediately impressed by your approach to the MBA process. I have no doubt in my mind that I would not have been accepted to Wharton without your extreme dedication, wise remarks and endless patience in explaining where I needed improvement. Brain-storming on the phone for over three hours ; reviewing numerous drafts of my essays till I got it right and preparing me for the final interview are just a few of the things that come to mind when I think of how you helped me out. Above all your talent in synthesizing the strongest stories from both my personal and professional background and assisting me in constructing a unique application plays a great part in my final results.”

“Just wanted to drop this thank you note for all your help during this exhausting process. As I mentioned about 1-2 weeks ago, I think you did an outstanding job and certainly helped a lot in making my MIT application much more concise and persuasive. Though I still haven’t received any results, I’m positive that I made the right move in switching to work with you. Thank you very much for your kindness, professionalism and serious efforts. You did a wonderful job!”

“First, let me update you. I have been accepted to Darden which was the preferred one from the get go. I guess that with a GPA of 2.3, getting accepted to a top business school is an accomplishment in every way you look at it, but more because I started the whole process much too late (because I didn’t even know that I would apply this year). Over the course of the last year that we have worked together I have really enjoyed our meetings and talks. You have always given me the information and answers I needed, even though I know that I was a tough and demanding client. Your strategic outlook and advice have made it possible for me to get accepted. I am sure that we will keep in touch, and I intend to continue to refer people to you. It was a hard job to make my application look like a whole entity — and you have pulled it through. Never have I worked with someone as articulate in English. I see it as a privilege that you have shared your time and wisdom with me; in the most stressful of conditions that I have put you in. Anyway, you helped express my ideas, wants and passions in ways that I could not, being an international and a far less talented a person in words, as I am.”

“Throughout this process I have very much enjoyed working with you. An email of praise cannot accurately express how great it was to work with you. You made this process enjoyable. Hopefully, we will cross paths one day so I can give you a big bear hug.”

“My thoughts on why my consultant helped so much:
1. She knew where the land mines are in the application.
2. Helped me NOT say stupid, arrogant, offensive, or other app-killing things. Believe it or not, this is SO VERY easy to do if you don’t have proper guidance.
3. Helped my story stand out and not be cliché.
4. Helped me recall stories that I had not even thought of using.
5. Assisted me in framing my stories in a concise and powerful way (She literally showed me how to take a 200-word paragraph and condense that down to about 30 words without losing any of the impact, incredible really).
6. Aided me in tying the entire application together (essays, resume, LOR’s).
7. Provided this same kind of feedback to my recommenders (who thankfully took her advice).

Occasionally, the issue of the ethics of using a consultant to aid in the app process emerges. My thought is that if professional writers use professional editors, why would someone applying to b-school, not use the resource of a consultant? Baffling to me why more people don’t use them (and why I didn’t use one sooner!).

That said, those that are going to invest in a consultant need to know a couple things from the outset:
1. An admissions consultant will help you organize your “raw materials” into something eloquent and grand. However, if you don’t have the “raw materials” such as leadership experience, relevant work experience, etc, the best consultant on the planet will not be able to help you get into your schools. If you find yourself in this category, my advice to you would be to postpone b-school apps and go get the leadership/work experience you need instead. Come back and apply when you have the “raw materials”. You will be far better off in the long run.
2. DO NOT EXPECT them to do all the work for you. I applied to 8 schools. At an average of 4 essays for each school x on average about 7 drafts per essay = 200+ Drafts by the time everything is said and done. “but why not recycle the same essays for all schools?”, you ask. In my opinion, one of the marks of a great consultant is that they perceive the subtle differences in the questions/school culture and will help you re-frame the same (or different) stories to best answer the question and woo the adcom. If you are cutting and pasting, that is your first red flag. In short, having a consultant to help you will not lighten your work load in the app process, but it WILL make it way more efficient.

As far as recommending a specific company, I really can’t comment on anyone other than the company I have used, MBAmission.com. I have been EXTREMELY pleased with their services, results and promptness in responding to all of my inquiries. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is serious about breaking into a top tier school.”

The service and results I received from this consulting firm were amazing. Jeremy (the owner) matched me with Daniel, a consultant that had experience with my target schools and my current industry. Daniel significantly contributed to my overall success. His strengths were his ability to understand my personality and writing style and tailor his edits in way that didn’t compromise either. Daniel was very good at helping me design a long-term goal that related to my short-term goal and work experience. He is also politically intelligent. Daniel quickly pointed out wording that might cause red flags in my essays and he edited the phrases to highlight the same personality traits while maintaining neutrality. Considering what a subjective crapshoot the admissions process is, this might have been Daniel’s most beneficial editing service. Additionally, Daniel went out of his way to connect me to current students at my target schools to help me tailor my essays for each school.

This service is awesome. We had a slow start and I was not happy about the service. Frankly speaking, I was thinking of not using their services for next set of schools but as these people got to know about me more, they came up with wonderful way of positioning my self, including how can I have energy in my essays. One great point to add is that they don’t temper with your style of writing and neither the content but makes you write the your stories in your own style. You can have 100 or reviews in one file as their prices is for one particular school. Overall a great experience..!!

Akiba was a pleasure to work with, and did a great job helping me express myself in the essays. I would use MBA Mission again in a heartbeat. I was waitlisted to two schools. Because some schools ask not to submit further information, dealing with the waitlist was very difficult. The only negative thing I can say is that waitlist coaching should have been more extensive.

MBA Mission provides first-class service. I wouldn’t have been able to get in Stanford GSB without Grainne’s insightful advice and editing. She intimately understands the culture of each school and provides advice that helped me to tell my own unique story in the most convincing and genuine fashion. She was able to do this by spending time to really know me. In a competitive year with high application volume, I still got interviewed at HBS, Wharton and Stanford, was waitlisted at the first two and got accepted by my first choice Stanford! Jeremy also provides great mock interviews that both helped me build my confidence and improve my interview style. Overall, I was completely impressed by their service and support throughout the process and strongly recommend them.

I would highly reccomend Jennifer Houston from MBA Mission. As I am living abroad, I needed to work with someone who could respond to my questions in a short time frame. Not only was Jennifer totally accessible (responding to my questions over email or skype within 24 hours), she was very knowledgable about what each school looks for in candidates. With an impressive knack for words, she was able to provide me with useful tips for better, more concise writing; tips I hope to continue to use after the application process. By pushing me to develop a more personalized voice, she helped me transform my essays from overly idealistic and long-winded into distinctive, clear prose. My mock interview with Jennifer was certainly my best preparation for my Kellogg interview. Furthermore, while this was certainly not within her job description, Jennifer also put me in touch with people from the industries that I was interested in, enabling me to refine my career vision.

MBA Mission added huge value to my application process. My consultant, Ben, was fully committed to help me deliver a solid application, and gave me some great advise on presenting my profile aided by his deep knwoledge of each of the schools. He also provided insightful and constructive comments towards improving my essays in a timely manner, and was available whenever I needed to crunch extra work. I felt very comfortable working with them and would recommend strongly.

I worked with Benjamin on my application for both Columbia and Haas. In the beginning it took me some time to adjust to their service, but once I understood that I am the “boss” regarding the schedule and other decisions, the process became much easier and fun. Although I got a ding from Columbia, Benjamin had great ideas for my Haas application and I even received a huge scholarship. Benjamin put a lot of efforts into my application and I am very happy with the service I received.

I can’t say enough good things about MBA Mission and my consultant, Akiba Francis-Smith. Throughout the process, they were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Akiba helped me develop my thoughts and stories into compeling essays that played a major role in my acceptance to the schools I applied to. I have no doubt that without her help the outcome would have not been nearly as positive. She trully pushed me to create some amazing applications. I would whole-heartedly recommend MBA Mission and Akiba to anyone that is really serious about attending a top program, especially in today’s extremely competitive environment. You will not regret your decision!

I surveyed various options for a consultant and MbaMission stood head and shoulders above the rest. I worked with Akiba for my applications and she has been amazing. There is no question that she was instrumental in my gaining acceptance at Wharton. This is even more remarkable when you think about the intense level of competition this year! I wholeheartedly recommend MBA Mission and have no doubt they will be a great asset on anyone’s journey through the MBA application process.

After checking out other admission consultants, I was the most comfortable with MBAMission, especially since Jeremy took the time to speak to me on multiple occasions regarding his firm and its results. I was paired with Jessica Shklar, whose performance exceeded my expectations. She always turned around my drafts within a few hours, which says a great deal about her dedication/commitment to her clients. She allowed me the freedom to drive the direction and theme of my essays, but always provided comments on how I can improve. It was a very constructive process because it helped me create a story that showcased me in the best light. Most importantly, she took the time to listen and understand. This relationship worked really well because of that. I trusted her completely in understanding the story I wanted to tell and who I am on a personal level. I would hire Jessica again.

Akiba is a pleasure to work with. Her straightforward and no BS style really worked well for me. She is always quick in her turnaround and frank when offering her opinion. When editing my esays, She was extremely thorough. By the time I clicked the “submit” button, I felt that I turned in a well-polished work that maintained my original voice, style, and story. Akiba has worked with many applicants, graduated from a top business school (HBS), and is a published writer. Just these credentials alone ensured that I was comfortable in my work and saved a ton of time second-guessing anything I wrote in my essays. I believe my work with Akiba was what made the difference between a waitlist last year and a quick admit this year. Thanks Akiba!

I had the pleasure of working with Monica Okrah on my application to CMU’s MSCF program. She held my hand through the entire application process and was especially helpful with my essays. I could not have asked for more in an admissions consultant and I will recommend her to all of my friends. My overall experience with MBA Mission was great!

Jennifer Houston from MBA Mission was fantastic to work with. I come from an over represented demographic group. She helped me distinguish myself and identify stories from my past that would appeal to admissions committees. My discussions with her helped me not only with the schools that we worked together on, but also on other schools that I applied to without her guidance. She was always available, very friendly and thoroughly supportive through the application process.

Selecting MBA Mission was the best decision I made in my b-school application process. It was expensive, but worth every penny. The consultant I was paired with, Akiba Smith-Francis, was fantastic. Extremely smart and knowledgeable about the application process as she had been through it herself (she is an HBS grad). I felt totally comfortable working with her, and she was very easy to talk to when I came to her with questions(and I had a lot of them). She was not only a great editor for my essays, she was a huge help when I was preparing for the interviews as well. Working with her increased my confidence. In the end, I got into all four MBA programs that I applied to. At the beginning of the process I had hoped that I would get into ONE, I never dreamed I’d get into all FOUR! I think that end result speaks to the success I had using MBA Mission and Akiba! I would HIGHLY recommend MBA Mission to anyone.

I worked with Jeremy Shinewald and he did an amazing job helping me edit my essays for the HBS 2+2 Program and I received an interview recently. He worked with me from the beginning to brainstorm and outline ideas and did a great job providing feedback and advice. I would highly recommend using MBA Mission for anyone who is going through the business school application process.

I got off to a really slow start, but Akiba hung in there with me and we made it to the finish line for the Round 1 deadline. She didn’t skimp on spending time with me and didn’t sugarcoat her advice — when she told me something seemed good or bad — I believed her. I think my essays and overall application turned out well and will give me a competitive chance for admission at my target school. I would definitely work with Akiba again or recommend her to a friend or colleague.

I used MBA Mission and was matched up with Akiba Smith-Francis. She took the time to really get to know me. We worked on one school at a time and she helped me tell MY story in a compelling way. She was timely in getting back with edits and talked to me frequently on the phone. Talking to Akiba really helped me think through my ideas. Just to be clear – the process is very ethical – they do not write anything for you – they help you brainstorm, pick the best topic to write about, review your essays and edit for grammar. I was very pleased with the service. I got into my TOP choice and I believe it is because my essays were VERY strong. Thanks to Akiba!

mbaMission was an incredibly valuable resource during my application process. I believe the fact that it’s a boutique firm is the reason for my success. While they do have a strict 48-hour limit on essay turnaround, I am one of the lucky few in the business who was able to take advantage of the 10-minute turnaround. I was fortunate enough to work with Jessica Shklar, one of the most genuine people I have, unfortunately, not had the please to meet in person, yet, have developed as good a relationship as any via phone, email, and the occasional text! Jessica did more than cut words, and occasionally wordsmith, she took an interest in who I was, what I have done, where I was going, and helped me, at times painstakingly, to ensure that who I was did not get lost in the process.

I had a great experience working with MBA Mission and I give them my highest recommendation. Though I can’t speak for everyone that works there, I had the good fortune of being set up with Jessica Shklar and she was nothing less than spectacular. I credit Jessica with helping me put together an application that ultimately led to my being accepted at my top choice. I felt like she genuinely cared about my acceptance, and she made sure that every aspect of my candidacy was covered, including editing my essays, preparing me for interviews, and coaching me through the process. In addition to helping me get through the application process, I feel like I am an overall better writer after working with her. This was money well spent!

I started looking at admission consultants in May/June 2009. I decided to go with MBA Mission based on my chat with one of their reps. and also someone who had used their services. As someone prone to procrastination, I knew I would need the help of a consultant to guide, encourage, and push me to get my apps done. My consultant, Yael Melamed, did all that and more. Yael is a very patient person and really takes the time to get to know you. This made a big difference when we reviewed essay ideas. Even though I did not follow the MBA Mission guidelines exactly – resulting in less time for essay revisions – Yael worked with me to get my essays done on time. Without her pep talks and calm voice of reason, I probably would have talked myself out of applying. Not everyone needs an ad. consultant. But if you know you are someone who can use a little outside guidance and motivation, I highly recommend MBA Mission – and Yael. She is an excellent editor and really helped me present my b

I worked with Monica Okrah of MBA Mission. Over the last few months, Monica has been a great support. Her ability to focus on the strengths of my application and on my story gave me confidence in this tough environment. She was attentive, understanding and very helpful in what proved to be a tedious and long process. I attribute my success to working diligently with her.

I worked with Benjamin Shinewald and his help was PHENOMENAL. In retrospect, if it were not for Benjamins help I do not think I would have been accepted to any of the top schools to which I was. I am extremely appreciative not only for his help but also for his motivation and determination to help me complete the best application possible.

I worked with Benjamin on this application and he was absolutely instrumental to my success!

I used Benjamin Shinewald for this application and he was absolutely instrumental to my success. I HIGHLY recommend you use him as an advisor.

I worked with Benjamin Shinewald on this application and his help was extremely useful. I was able to develop a very solid application and get an interview. I was only one of two people from my country to get an interview for the 2nd round. Although I was not accepted I could not have had a stronger application and much of the credit goes to Benjamin Shinewald.

I really cannot express enough the impact that MBAmission and my consultant Jessica Shklar had on my applications and ultimately my future. From the very beginning of the process, it was a partnership with the sole goal of getting me accepted to a top business school. She treated me like I was her only client starting with the initial brainstorming session and worked very hard to improve my applications. Jessica was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire process and was fantastic at framing my story and helping me craft impactful and powerful essays. I have a very nontraditional background and my consultant worked with me to pull out my very best experiences. She was then willing to work on as many drafts as necessary to make each essay perfect. After the submission we worked just as hard to prepare for my interviews. I can honestly say that if I went at this alone I would have been rejected from most top 50 schools. With their help I was accepted to multiple top 15 schools!

Without Monica Okrah I would not be attending B school this year (let alone a top 10 school), period. I am an outlier – grades and GMAT well below the averages – but Monica drew the absolute best out of me and helped me craft a compelling story that top MBA programs ultimately heard. Monica’s unwavering support and commitment throughout the process were incredible, but don’t take that as her being a ‘softie’ because she gets down to business and is extremely professional. Every time I thought an essay was ‘good enough,’ Monica pushed me and helped me make it even better, and the same can be said for every step of the application process. I wholeheartedly recommend Monica Okrah – words honestly cannot describe how please I am and how thankful I am that I used her services.

Monica Okrah did a fantastic job helping me with my Kellogg application as well – it was definitely one of my strongest. I was waitlisted, but Monica helped coach me through the process and helped me put my best foot forward in my update letter and all communication with Northwestern. Like my last review, I was a major outlier for Kellogg’s numbers and was admitted because Monica helped highlight my strengths and differentiate me from the masses that applied in the most competitive MBA admissions year ever. I can’t think Monica Okrah enough!

I was a reapplicant using MBAMission’s services and would definitely recommend it. Akiba and Jeremy are great. They work extremely hard to find out what makes you unique and then help you tell your story in the best way possible, which was especially important for me as a reapplicant. Excellent, personal service.

My experience with MBA Mission was nothing short of first class. The president, Jeremy, was very informative and paired me with Monica Okrah. Monica did an excellent job. She was truly a coach. She set high expectations and didn’t pat me on the back for a half-hearted effort. She pushed until I truly delivered my best work. I would highly recommend her and the firm.

I worked with Erin at MBA Mission and had a terrific experience. Erin provided top-notch editing skills, served as a sounding board for my essay ideas and also provided great suggestions for making my themes clearer. I would highly recommend MBA Mission to anyone.

I worked with Jessica Shklar from mbaMission for four college applications over a period of 4 months. My experience with her was great and I was happy with the results of my applications. Her feedback always made me look at my application in an objective way and I was fully confident that the applications I had submitted were close to the best they could be. On more than a few occasions she helped me bring out interesting aspects of my life story which I would not have found otherwise. Starting from the first session with Jeremy Shinewald to my experience with Jessica, mbaMission was professional and dedicated to my success. I would definitely say that this was a great investment and I would highly recommend them to anyone seriously interested in applying to business schools.

I highly recommend MBAMission and specifically Akiba Smith-Francis. Akiba was invaluable in helping me prepare my applications (through all phases of brainstorming, editing, etc.) and for my interviews. Without her I do not think I would have been admitted to two of my top choices (Chicago Booth and Columbia). Before choosing MBAMission I also interviewed all of the major consulting companies, and settled on MBAMission for the majority of my applications and Cambridge Essay Editing (Sandy) for my HBS application. After working with both consultants for a few weeks, I dropped Cambridge Essay Editing and worked with Akiba on HBS as well as my other applications because she was vastly more helpful then Cambridge Essay Editing. Akiba was spectacularly helpful throughout the process for all of my applications – and I highly recommend her and MBAmission.

Jeremy and Grainne provided incredibly assistance. I received higher level support from Jeremy (what schools to apply to, what stories to highlight on my applications, how to do an interview, etc) and Grainne handled the essay editing. I really felt that I couldn’t have been in better hands. They were supportive and responsive even when the deadlines were really close and I was sending essays the night before. Would highly recommend MBAMission.

MBA missions is the essay editing service which is right on target. My consultant Angela Guido, is a Booth Alumni, did a great job in helping me bring out what I wanted to say. She asked me the right questions which helped me tailor my essay to make it very effective. Finally it is picking up the right story and articulating it right. I made it thru Kellogg and Booth part time programs. Picked Booth :) I highly recommend services from MBA Mission. Thanks guys !

I hired mbaMission to support my b-school application process and really wasn’t happy with their services. They talk about working with you ceaselessly to support all aspects of the process as a partner and coach, but after working with their firm for almost nine months now, I frankly felt like my consultant was kind of going through the motions and not fully invested in my success. My friend who also hired mbaMission describes them as a “glorified essay editing service.” All in all, I would definitely recommend hiring an unlimited b-school application consulting service. It’s a huge help to have fast turnaround essay edits, resume editing, and a sounding board for important questions. While the consultants at mbaMission are good people with strong qualifications, when spending $5,000 or more in fees to support a really important life decision, you should be delighted with the service. I really wasn’t – so I would say hire a consulting firm, just not mbaMission.

I think part of what I expected in a high-price comprehensive consulting service like mbaMission (and part of what they advertise) is more than just a list of services, but a coach and partner to help guide me through the storm. I didn’t really feel like I always had a partner and coach invested in my success when I wanted one. On several occasions I wanted to discuss application strategy or important questions and felt rushed through the process by my consultant. It felt like they just wanted to resolve the question and get off the phone quickly. Also, sometimes essay edits and feedback were sloppy and incomplete, which gave me the impression they were just rushing through edits without really trying to get the best essay possible. All in all, I thought I was paying for more than just a list of services, but an unlimited resource to support my business school process. On several occasions, I felt like their support fell short and they were just “checking the box” and moving on.

I used MBA Mission and was paired up with Angela. I really enjoyed working with her because she’s a good listener and tries to think about the best way to present yourself. In addition, I’m a huge procrasinator, and I did all of my essays for one of the top bschools the last week before they were due. Because of that, we only had time for one round of edits before they were due. Luckily, Angela really helped me focus my message and cut down unnecessary words, which I think really made the difference. I’m going to this school in the fall with a huge $$$ scholarship package. I definitely recommend working with Angela if you’re considering MBA Mission.

I feel that I am quite lucky that I got to work with Jessica Shklar. She really exceeded my expectations. She was always extremely responsive(usually within 24 hrs, and at times even faster!!) She also really did a great job getting to know me, and helped me present my stories in the best possible way. She is extremely intelligent about the applications process and what the schools look for. She gave me very good insights, and really was there for me throughout the process. She is also extremely nice and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know.

I can’t thank MBAmission and Lynn Moloney enough. From the very first e-mail for the initial consultation to the mock interview preparation, everything was above and beyond what I expected. You really do get what you pay for. Since this was a make or break year for me and since I had been rejected to all places I applied to last year, I did not want to take a chance this time. And boy, am I glad I signed up to work with Lynn ? Lynn has been instrumental in making sure all my essays and my interview preparation was to the mark that is required of all applicants who are admitted to a MBA program. I come from a non-traditional Indian engineer, Non IT/Non IB background. I was targeting schools outside the top 20, and since this was not the schools Monica, who I had the initial consultation with, set up a conference call with Jeremy, Lynn, herself, and me. This is when I knew that I had made the right choice signing up with MBAmission. Lynn went above and beyond to help me choose sch

I can’t describe in words how helpful mbaMission has been throughout the application process. Although I was a bit hesitant initially to go for professional help, but I’m glad that I worked with mbaMission. I worked with Monica Okrah, who is an extremely dedicated consultant. She has been asking the right set of questions, pushing for near perfection and providing critical inputs that have helped me highlight my strengths in the application. As I passed through various phases of the application – brainstorming sessions, essay editing, resume, online application to interview preparation – my trust in Monica only grew stronger. The whole application process requires a lot of introspection and Monica spent a lot of time to know me that resulted in a tailored application highlighting my strengths. Bottomline – Deciding to work with Monica would be the wisest decision in your journey towards MBA.

Erin Schuhmacher was my consultant and she was excellent. Erin’s best skill IMO was at helping me identify the compelling aspects of “my story”. She knew what experiences would best fit the essay questions that were asked. Another aspect that I liked about having Erin as a consultant was the structure that she brought to the application process. She stayed on me to deliver work to her for reviewing. This kept me well ahead of the curve and helped me avoid the stress of being up against deadlines. It wouldn’t have been too easy to stay on top of this stuff while working a full-time job. All in all, I am thrilled for having used Erin Schumacher from MBA Mission. I recently got into my target school, Michigan Ross, and I don’t think this would have been possible without Erin’s help. One more thing, I consider myself something of an expert on the realm of MBA admission consulting as I had used Clear Admit last year and I don’t think that my consultant from CA possessed the sam

I used Angela Guido from MBA Mission. She was very helpful from the start. I came into the process having done a lot of research. I was already in essay writing mode, and thought my essays were in good shape. Angela forced me to reevaluate my essays and show me how I could articulate my stories in a much more efficient way. She also challenged me to come up with better stories and experiences from my past. Her interview preparation and tips were also very helpful. I would not have been so successful without her help.

I worked with Angela Guido on my application to Booth, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was able to work the fact that I’m applying straight from undergrad to my advantage and to help me prove that I deserve and truly need to get an MBA now. I particularly appreciated that Angela left the actual essay writing and topic formation to me — she gave constructive criticism when needed, but she allowed my voice and story to come through naturally. She really helped me understand the idea of “branding” myself. Working with her specifically, and reading through all of MBAMission’s resources, allowed me to really grasp the concept of creating and effectively presenting my unique story. I think that Angela’s unique background in screenwriting as well as her top notch MBA education at Chicago Booth particularly helped in this respect.

I worked with Monica Okrah who was absolutely wonderful. She helped me craft my story and the end result was great. There is no way I would have had the result I did without her help. Thanks Monica!

Jessica Shklar of MBA Mission is the reason I was able to receive fellowship offers from both MIT Sloan and Univ. of Chicago Booth. She understands the game and will help you evaluate your strengths and weaknesses to develop essays and interview strategies to make your best case to admission committees. After failing to attain an acceptance offer from 5 different schools last year, I was hesitant to reapply yet alone spend money on a consultant. This was the best investment I have ever made in myself. She is professional and readily reachable. She works quickly and her turn around time is fast. She takes a personal interest in seeing her clients succeed and this shines through in every interaction with her.

I sought out help with my executive MBA application from MBAMission and immediately hit it off with my admissions counselor Jessica Shklar during the free 30-minute consultation. Down-to-earth, logical, and friendly, Jessica helped me through all aspects of my interview– application coaching, essay writing and editing, and interview coaching. She was invaluable to helping me communicate my story in my application. As proof, I got into my top choice program with flying colors! She also had very quick turnaround time, which I thoroughly appreciated. If I had to do the application process over again, I would use Jessica again as my admissions consultant in a heartbeat. Use Jessica’s services– you won’t be disappointed!

MBA Mission was awesome. Jeremy contacted me directly and after evaluating my aspirations and how I work, he hooked me up with Angela Guido. Angela was amazing from start to finish. Her screenwriting background was of tremendous help to me as without her I would not have been able to craft interesting and captivating stories. Above all, it was her ability to have me question and re-question my goals, my stories, and my experiences in order to truly capture the experience and/or lesson learned and utilize it in my essays. By diving deeper and deeper into my experiences, she helped me come up with stories and experiences I never even thought of in such a light, and many of those were the ones that best fit what the essays and schools wanted to know and learn about me. There is no doubt in my mind that without Angela I would not have gotten so many interviews with top MBA schools, nor would I have been admitted to Michigan.

I strongly recommend Jessica from mbaMission to any applicants looking for a competitive advantage. Her insight and expertise helped me identify the significant events from my life that I included in my application to set me apart from the rest of the applicants. She made sure that my application was a strong reflection of my strengths and unique characteristics. Her encouragement and support made the overall process less stressful and more enjoyable. Also, she worked hard to provide a good and timely service, often times returning essay drafts well before the stated 48 hr turnaround time. I strongly believe that her services will significantly increase your chances of admittance. I doubt I would have been admitted without her help!
